CAPSIG SEMINAR - WHAT'S IN THAT POWDER???
Date: 2nd December 2009
Venue: Auditorium Room, Canterbury Hurlstone RSL, 20-26 Canterbury Road, Hurlstone Park
WHAT’S IN THAT POWDER???
It may be simple talcum powder to you but when it turns up in an envelope in suspicious circumstances, is it something more sinister??? In the new age of bioterrorism the police must quickly be able to decide what the threat is. This scenario has spawned the formation of a new discipline in microbiology, namely forensic microbiology. So, for this Xmas seminar CAPSIG has invited a forensic scientist to share with us the techniques used within their field which should be of interest in solving some of our own QA/QC problems. You can compare and contrast the different approaches to problem solving when indentifying the source of contamination in a product. And even if some of the methods don’t apply to you, come and enjoy this fascinating insight to the world of forensic microbiology!
As they say ‘crime sells’ so come along and enjoy the talk and take part in the celebration of CAPSIG’s 20th BIRTHDAY.
